Feeding & Clothing AIDS Orphans AIDS is a disease that knows no borders, but it is in sub-Saharan Africa that the carnage is greatest. Beyond the inherent suffering and loss of life, AIDS has decimated the adult workforce, impoverished families, and orphaned millions. As nations lose adults in their prime working years, orphans have no alternative but to quit school and work to provide for themselves and their siblings. This vicious cycle then places the already vulnerable in a position where their hope of becoming self-reliant is non-existent. The economic, social and political aid for many of these children has disintegrated adding to an already desperate situation. Child-headed household are very common. As part of our fight against HIV/AIDS we want to feed and clothe orphans so their need to quit school will not take from them the opportunity to move ahead. It is a little known fact that up to 80% of children testing positive to HIV at birth are actually negative when their own antibodies are developed. Proper nutrition, medical care and love can virtually save their lives. We have two different projects that address specifically these needs. You can donate $20.00 for student uniforms and schooling costs for 1 year or you can donate $50.00 towards the lunch feeding program for 1 child for 1 year. "Believing that I was born for the service of mankind, and regarding the care of the commonwealth as a kind of common property which, like the air and the water, belongs to everybody, I set myself to consider in what way mankind might be best served, and what service I was myself best fitted by nature to perform. " Francis Bacon. |
One of our projects is to provide food and clothing for children who have been affected
by AIDS.
